Albert Nobbs

Indie, Period
4.5 stars
Very good, but a bit slow moving.  Glenn Close truly earns her Best Actress Nomination as she plays a woman who lives as a man working in a small Dublin hotel in this bittersweet tale.  Complications arise when her character develops a crush on a young and immature maid, Mia Wasikowska.  More interesting is her friendship with Janet McTeer - who I thought was fantastic - and is also worthy of her Best Supporting Actress Nomination.  McTeer plays another woman living as a man but has created a whole lifestyle that Close’s character is fascinated by.  Really good, but a little slow.
